Crystal Clear Belly

According to talks Divarm was borned with a crystal belly which was sparkly clean and clear.  One can easily see the five vital organs (ie. heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney) and the six digestive organs (ie. stomach, liver, gall, pancreas, small intestine, large intestine).

At that time, people did not know how to use fire to cook food. They ate everything raw from plants to insects and fish. As such, they were always sick.  Once they become sick, they did not know how to heal themselves and so they always easily ended up dead.

Divarm seeing this was very sad and thought very hard to find ways to minimize sickness.  While he was thinking he saw his own stomach and thought, "yes! The world is filled with all kinds of flowers and plants and they are all different. Let's try them all and see what happens after they end up in my stomach.  When necessary I can eat and make use of them at will."

He felt fortunate that he had a crystal clear stomach, he hastily made two bags for carrying.  He intended to place the good tasting stuff into the bag on his left as food; and the not good tasting stuff with special effects into the bag on his right as medicine.

Divarm, after fully prepared, began to taste hundreds of plants.  First, he tried a fresh green leaf.  Little green leaf fell into his stomach, it went up and down to clean, the stomach became refresh after the wash, and Divarm felt soothed!   Little green leaf's up and down motion appeared like it was doing rounds, Divarm called this "investigate".  People after him invented words and the word somehow became "tea"*.  Divarm thought that "investigate" was healthy and can be eaten and so placed it into the bag on his left side.

After that, Divarm tried a faintly red little flower in the shape of a butterfly, the leaves was like wings, very pretty.  It also smelled very nice and tasted sweet, this was what people called as "Gum Grass"**! Divarm thought Gum Grass tasted very good and so also placed it into the bag on his left.

Divarm then tried a unique little green flower.  The flower was hanging on the stem, the circularly shaped leaf had a little tiny sharp pointy end.  He tried it, it was bitter and sour, it's nut had thorns!  This thing was hitting the stomach pound after pound, the stomach could not take it; Even Divarm's knee grew swollen so swollen that it looked like a cow's knee.  Divarm knew this was bad, he quickly swallowed a tea leaf to detox.  This thing came to be called "cow knee" and was placed in Divarm's right bag.

Divarm tasted over hundreds of plants like this and whenever he was poisoned, he would eat a tea leaf.  He had a crystal clear stomach so he could clearly see the reaction created by the flowers or plants in his stomach.  After clearly seeing, he would place them in the appropriate bag.  According to rumours, Divarm's left bag had forty seven thousand types of flowers and plants while his right bag had over three hundred and ninety eight thousand types; however, he still had not taste all the flowers, plants, stems and leafs the world below the sky had to offer.

That day, he saw a little yellow flower which he had never tried before, like a little tea flower; however, its leaf opened and closed.  Divarm hesitated, could it be a plant monster?  As he wanted to try all the plants and flowers for the hundreds of names below the sky, he did not care and went ahead and ate this leaf as well.  Who would have thought, as soon as it entered the stomach, his intestines immediately began to separate, one by one.  He did not have time to eat the tea leaf and died!  The people the came after called this plant "Separate Intestine Grass"

The common talk of: "Divarm tried thousands and thousands of medicine yet could not cure separate intestine grass." is with respect to this matter.

Divarm wanted to help people and ended up sacrificing himself, the people that came after could not forget him and called him "Medicine Pu Sha".  Nowadays there are a lot of places with "Medicine Temple" which are used to worship him!

*"Investigate" and "tea" are pronounced the same in Cantonese or possibly Mandarin as well.
**Gum is a sound translation. Grass is Grass.
