As the drafting of this thought, I am only at the third story of this book. I love how the characters I am reading are traditional Chinese as opposed to simplified Chinese. As I check my elementary school Chinese dictionary which I obtained as a prize for winning something and cross-reference with a high school level Chinese dictionary, I see how the Chinese Characters were developed by pictures and meanings.
The Chinese writings is very fitting with the myths I have read so far. It is making me look up the Chinese dictionary a lot.
It was also helpful that my first five (5) minutes speech in Canada delivered in Grade five (5) was about Chinese writing. In a way, I feel that I am learning the development of traditional Chinese writing because I am trying to translate the text to the best of my ability. If I was simply reading, I will not be making reference to any Chinese dictionary, English dictionary, thesaurus, and encyclopedia.
I am not one hundred percent (100%) satisfied with my translation but it is a good start.
It would be unfortunate if traditional Chinese writing is lost and replaced by simplified Chinese writing. If that happens, a lot of terms and etc. will eventually be lost as well. I do not have the English language to describe what I believe will be lost.

Just finished translating the fifth story. What a great way to learn about describing places. Can you imagine being the first to discover places of water and building around them? My translation about the water from where Neuwa was is very funny. Especially when the original text wrote that the west was all water. Chinese did not realize there was civilization in the West until Marco Polo. Maybe because Ancient Chinese slayed anyone arriving from the West before Marco Polo.

I decided to start hand copying all of the translations I have done to date. In case, something happens electronically. It is also a good time to make more edits to my writing. When I finish my project, I will have a handwritten copy of my own translations. Obviously, I will write better and more concisely because I do not want to have to hand copy too many words.
I decided to not update all of my already published translations electronically, especially if the changes are extremely minor. I only update if I deem a sentence could be written better or if a mistake can easily be spotted. Moving forward, I plan to write better during my translation process so that I do not have to edit as much. The less error the easier it is to edit.
Lastly, the original text is written in Chinese. As such, the usage of commas is sometimes different from the English language. I do not know all of the proper usage of punctuation marks in English or Chinese but I will no longer translate using a bunch of commas. Hopefully, my use of punctuation marks are not that bad.
As of this date, I have only managed to hand copy three of my translations.

I have stopped copying my translations. It is taking too long and not worth the time. If I began writing out my translation, I think typing it back up would take a lot less time.
Anyhow, I am currently translating a story involving lots of descriptions of battles. It's hard to translate because I tend to skim over battles scenes when I read in English. I would be skimming this story right now if I was not translating. This story is going to take a while.
Oddly enough, I enjoy watching battle scenes in action.
